BAKU, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 3rd Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX) opened on Tuesday, with more than 220 companies from 29 countries, including China, showcasing their state-of-the-art defence technologies and military equipment.

On display at the three-day exhibition are aerospace defence systems, arms and ammunition, electronic warfare systems, military uniforms and equipment, radar systems, ships, vessels and naval systems, simulation and training systems, unmanned systems, and weapons and vehicles for ground troops.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President for Work with Law Enforcement Bodies and Military Issues Fuad Alasgarov read out President Ilham Aliyev's message of greetings to the exhibition participants. In his message, Aliyev hailed ADEX as a significant platform showcasing the country's achievements in the field of defence industry.

Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, France, Israel, Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine have their national stands at ADEX. Turkey is the largest participant with 41 companies in attendance, while Russia and Israel are the second and third with 25 and 14 firms respectively.

Three Chinese companies -- CETC International Co. Ltd., Hangzhou Hikvision Technology Co. Ltd. and Zhejiang Dahua Vision Technology Co. Ltd. -- are displaying their products in information security, radars and video surveillance solutions categories.

The largest regional event of its kind, ADEX was launched in 2014. The second exhibition was held in 2016.
