DAKAR, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Invest in Senegal Forum 2025 opened on Tuesday in the city of Diamniadio, near Senegal's capital of Dakar, aiming to accelerate the inflow of foreign capital.
The two-day event, under the theme "Connecting Opportunities, Building the Future," brought together government officials, experts and international investors from multiple countries.
In his opening address, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye said his country enjoys multiple advantages in attracting foreign investment, noting that the government remains committed to improving the business environment and welcomes partners from all sectors to share experience and build mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the forum, Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko visited the exhibition area of Chinese enterprises at the invitation of Chinese Ambassador to Senegal Li Zhigang.
Li said the Chinese exhibition area, organized by more than 20 Chinese companies, showcases achievements and prospects of China-Senegal cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, 5G communications, smart manufacturing and low-carbon technologies.
He expressed the hope that the business communities of both countries will build consensus, align development needs and create a shared future.
To date, more than 100 Chinese enterprises have invested and operated in Senegal, spanning sectors including major infrastructure construction such as highways, bridges and ports, as well as the manufacturing of steel, ceramics and building materials, in addition to information technology and high-tech industries. ■
