MANILA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' Department of Migrant Workers confirmed Wednesday that a Filipino crew member of a Dutch cargo ship died from wounds sustained in an attack in the Gulf of Aden last week.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said on social media that he is traveling to Djibouti to personally oversee the repatriation of the remains of the Filipino seafarer and to visit another Filipino crew member recovering in a local hospital.

The Filipinos were crew members of the MV Minervagracht that was attacked at sea on Sept. 29. ■
