BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Following the announcement of Brunei's new family banknotes series in September, the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) conducted sessions for business owners to ensure smooth and convenient transactions once the new banknotes enter circulation in the first half of 2026.

Owners of business machines across the country, including parking and vending machine operators as well as payment kiosk owners, are advised to conduct calibration exercises to enable their machines to recognize and accept the new notes.

The BDCB reassured the public that all existing banknotes currently in circulation will remain legal tender and continue to be used alongside the new series. ■
