RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Fortaleza has sacked Portuguese manager Renato Paiva after less than two months in the job, the Brazilian Serie A side said on Tuesday.
The announcement came two days after a 2-1 loss at Internacional that left Fortaleza 19th in the 20-team standings.
Fortaleza said it also parted ways with assistant coaches Ricardo Dionisio and Miguel Santos, and goalkeeping coach Rui Tavares.
"We thank them for their services and wish them future success," the club said in a brief statement on social media.
Paiva guided Fortaleza to just one victory in 10 matches after replacing Argentine Juan Pablo Vojvoda in mid-July.
Fortaleza's next match will be a home fixture against Vitoria in the Serie A on September 13. ■
