NICOSIA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Defence ministers of Cyprus, Greece and Israel have decided to further develop and enhance trilateral cooperation on account of regional instability, said a statement issued on Friday.

The statement was issued after the defence ministers held their second annual meeting at the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in the southern city of Larnaca.

"Taking into consideration regional challenges, increasing extremism, aggression and the threat of terror, the deepening cooperation between our defence establishments serves as an important part of our bilateral and trilateral collaborations," the statement said.

The statement said Cypriot Defence Minister Savvas Angelides also had bilateral meetings with Greece's Defence Minister Panos Kammenos and Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

The ministers agreed to hold their next meeting in Israel.
